Ruth Hannah (McCollum) Horne

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Jamestown United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. David Greene officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the memorial service.

Ruth was born in Alamance County on August 31, 1939 to the late William Binford McCollum and Hannah Davis McCollum. She was a devoted member of Jamestown United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Ruth was an Interior Designer, Senior Buyer and Co-owner of Rolane Factory Outlets. She was an avid sports fan and gracious hostess to all who came to their home. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Jean Seltzer; brother, Pete McCollum; and nephew, Dwight Seltzer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband and best friend, Joe Horne; children, Misha Foust (Michael) of Siler City, NC; Jason Poole of Greensboro, NC; Allen Horne (Mande) of Greenville, SC; and Neil Horne (Emily) of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law, Lou McCollum; daughter-in-law, Kathy Poole; grandchildren, Casey Horne, Kayden Poole, Felise Horne, Hunter Sandlin, Trae Horne, Will Poole, Lucas Horne and Tyler Poole; niece, Paula Xan Cudd (Rick); nephews, Andy McCollum (Kirsten) and Nathan Seltzer (Jennifer); and her precocious grand-cat, Cotton.
