Shirley was born on January 27, 1942 in Troy, NC, the daughter of Edwin Wilson McIntyre and Ida Belle Johnson McIntyre. She graduated from Asheboro High School in 1960. Shirley worked both as an Interior Designer and dental assistant throughout her career. Following the death of her parents, she ran the family business, Ed’s Supply in Biscoe, NC. She loved gardening, playing golf and shag dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her bridge and supper club friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Edwin Scott Hix and wife Andrea of Lexington, NC and Alicia “Ali” Dent Ehrman and husband Robert of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren, Molly and Jacob Hix and Finley Ehrman.
The family will gather to receive friends on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
