Stanley passed away in Chapel Hill, NC on Friday, December 21, 2018 after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s. The funeral will be Monday, December 24 at 2:00 at the Cone Family Cemetery in Greensboro, NC.
Stanley was born and grew up in Patterson, NJ, graduating from East Side High School and Dartmouth College, Class of 1953, and Harvard Law School Class of 1956 and served as a JAG officer in Charlottesville, VA from 1956 to 1960.
His Wall Street career began as a “runner” and he soon became a legendary long-term investment manager for various firms over a sixty-year career, enriching his employers, family, and friends with brilliant stock selections.
He was a member of The Harvard Club of New York City and Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Weston, CT. He leaves his wife of forty-four years, Jeanette Cone Kimmel, loving nieces and nephews, and many friends.
