Susie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mike Lewis: her daughters, Michele Lewis Terry (John), Cheryl Kasey Lewis Boyce (Don) and grandchildren Hudson Boyce and Dakota Boyce.
Susie was in the last graduating class at Wake Forest Baptist Nursing School in 1974. She received her BSN from NC A&T University in 1998 where she graduated summa cum laude. She was also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, a prestigious Honor Society of Nursing. Susie was a devoted RN for over 40 years and in 1999 she was selected as one of the 100 Excellent Nurses in North Carolina.
She was treasured and beloved by all of her patients and anyone she encountered. Her spirit and laughter were contagious and will live on in all of us.
A service will be held for Susie on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Life Community Church, 4900 West Wendover Ave, Jamestown, NC 27282. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Life Community Church or Hannah’s Haven.
