
A celebration of life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 2 PM in Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends in the Virginia Gilmer Room, at the church, following the service.
Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Greensboro. Among his many accomplishments and achievements was his military service during WW II, and 33rd Degree Mason in the PP Turner Lodge 746 and Corinthian Lodge 542 and Shrine. He was an honorary life member of the Greensboro Rotary Club and for many years led the singing at the Young Men’s’ Bible Class at First Presbyterian Church where he also served as an Elder.
Bill retired as president of Norment and Lambert, Inc. in 1992.
He enjoyed his family, fishing with his friends, golf with his foursome and volunteering in the city he loved.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years Jane Davis Lambert; son, Stephen A. Lambert and his wife June Basden; daughter Sarah Lambert Benson and her husband Rodney Benson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 E Lee St, Greensboro, NC 27406.
