William “Bill” Ray Griffin, 77, a resident of Greensboro passed away at his residence on Thursday June 20, 2024. He was born In Concord on September 8, 1946 the son of Eli and Elouise Barber Griffin.
Bill was a graduate of Dudley High School and retired from Cone Hospital where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Babbee Sue Griffin who passed away shortly after birth, Dora Ann Graham, Mary Virginia Jackson, Edith King, Annie Ruth Stevenson, Betty Kane; brothers, J.D. Griffin, Harry Griffin and granddaughter, Brittany Butterfield
Surviving are his wife. Rosa Lee Suggs Griffin of the home; son, Christopher Ray Griffin and wife Felica of Fayetteville; step-son, Calvin Stevens and wife Leslie of Greensboro; step-daughter, Lori Ann Lopez and husband Jose of Alexandria, VA; brother, Larry Griffin of Greensboro; brother-in-law Charles Stevenson of Greensboro, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A service to Celebrate the Life of Bill will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 27, 2024 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefeld Chapel. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service.
