With sorrow we announce the passing of William Banner “Bill" Hamilton on August 29, 2025, at the age of 78. He was a resident of South Carolina and a veteran of the US Army. Bill was born in North Carolina on August 3, 1947, served his country during the Vietnam War and worked for Piedmont Natural Gas for over 30 years. As an avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman, he enjoyed his time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife -Katherine; son-Tommy (Adena), five grandchildren, (Christian, Breanna, Michael, Katelyn, and Tammy) and one great-grandchild (Kayden). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and one son (Michael Jay).
Services will be held at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, North Carolina on Thursday Sept. 4th at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro NC 27407 from 1 pm with graveside services at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
