William "Bill" R. Jernigan Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.

Bill was born on March 6, 1932, in Dunn, North Carolina, to the late William Robert Jernigan, Sr., and Meta Louise Denning Jernigan and was of the Christian faith. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. Bill graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at Western Electric for most of his working life. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old Westerns. In his younger years, he enjoyed cooking and traveling. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Helen Jernigan; son, Chris Jernigan (Lydia); daughter, Paje Dawn Jernigan; grandchildren, Aaron Jernigan (Tan) of Cooper City, Florida and Mark Jernigan (Lorelyn) of Pembroke Pines, Florida; and great-grandchildren, Winter Aldrich, Ivanna Puerto, and Madison Jernigan.
