Born December 14, 1940 in Vernon, he was the son of Ivory and Florence (Brooks) Sandefur. Forrest graduated from Vernon High School in 1958 and went on to build a long and dedicated career with several companies, including Thompson Industries, CP Electronics, Reliance Electric, BCA, and Stone Bridge Trucking.
On January 20, 1963, he married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Wright. Together they shared a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Lorie and Marcy, who were his pride and joy.
A man of deep faith, Forrest was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. He will be remembered not only for his strong moral character but also for his generous spirit and quiet wisdom.
Forrest had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed fixing things. He was incredibly handy and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His talents, patience, and steady presence touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Sandefur; daughters, Lorie Marsh and Marcy (Tony) Hammond; grandchildren, Katie Marsh, Spencer (Ollie Wren) Marsh, and Ivory (Nick) Gunter; great grandchildren, Cambria, Novalee and Silas Gunter; and brother, Kenneth Sandefur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two great grand angel babies; sisters, Hazel Flack, Cordelia Southerland, Rosanna Oldham, Margaret Sandefur, and Connie Gestner; brothers, Ivory Sandefur, Lon Sandefur and Jess Sandefur.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday October 26, 2025 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 1 pm until 4 pm. The funeral will take place at 10 am Monday October 27, 2025 at The First Baptist Church. Rev. Cliff Bunch will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Vernon Cemetery.
