Gary Joseph Schwering, 59 of Greensburg, passed away on January 15, 2019. Gary was born on August 24, 1959, in Greensburg, the son of Samuel and Phyllis (Hardebeck) Schwering. Gary worked for Federal Mogul and the Decatur County Highway Department. Gary enjoyed golfing, hunting, and farming. He loved having fun with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his mother, Phyllis Schwering of Greensburg; brothers, Stephen Schwering of Louisville, KY and Michael (Kristi) Schwering of Greensburg; niece, Erica (Brandon) Lay; nephews, Justin Schwering and Kyle Schwering; great niece, Harper Grace Lay. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, John Schwering.
Rosary will be prayed Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 pm until the start of the Funeral Mass at 3:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Adam Ahern will be officiating. Burial will be at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com.
