Old Fudd you are surely missed! I first met Fudd at a shooting event at West Penn Sportsman. Big burly ruggedly handsome fellow with sleeves cutoff his shirt. He was traveling with Jerry Bruns and they were a pair. Heck of a shot and he had a few stories to tell. It just won't be the same this year at the Ruffsdale Gun Club without him napping on the reclining chair. Take care my friend until me meet again.

Fudd it was not the same at the last shoot at West Penn. Also, I have been digging through pictures and videos from about 13 years of trapshoots in Pennsylvania. Rest easy my friend and we will see you on the other side..

I knew Greg from the time I was little, because him & my Dad, John, were friends from graduating High School together.  

I always enjoyed our conversations & his easy going nature! 

Actually we worked out together at the New YMCA in the early 2000s, hung out & talked a few times at the old Primetime Steakhouse, where Buffalo Wings & Rings is now, too. 

He was always great company!!

Greg we kept in touch all these years after I moved away.  But this year I didn't hear back.  Now the weekend I always remember as "Back Home Again" has passed without you here.  But I'll always remember learning to shoot 22s up in the YMCA attic range together and you picking us up in the "Van Clan" to take us to swim team practice.  Greg you made big impact on many people like me and God bless you.

West Brownstown Rd just won't be the same without you. We are going to miss your larger than life personality.

My Mom was in failing health and one particular morning before I went to work was checking on her, knowing she needed a trip to hospital or least to a doctor. Our dog, Roscoe,  had  been in declining health and was also sick that morning. Overwhelmed with the day,  I met Shaffer on the road and told him how my morning was going.   That eve I found Shaffer had taken the dog to the vet and had him cared for. He continued to spend  hundreds of  dollars to get Roscoe well.  Shaffer took Roscoe into his house, assigned him a recliner by the heat stove  and continued to care for him for years.   That's just not a neighbor, that's family. 

Fud, I was totally shocked to hear about your passing. It was only a month or so that we talked and you told me everything was OK and you were going to get through this. Little did I know then that this was Leukemia. When I moved to Batesville in 1984, we became the best of friends and created countless memories participating in numerous trapshooting events around the country. We could laugh and joke and rib one another without ever getting mad. I remember your Uncle Jim and the great memories we established together. It was great that you became an Indian and shot with us in the great state of Pennsylvania. I'll always cherish the memories and was truly glad your were part of my life. RIP my friend until we meet again. Dave.

Spent lots of hours at the gun shop and had many stories told on Fudley by many people. And of course he always had some of his own. Very sorry for your loss. Fudley made his mark and was one of a kind.

I've known Greg for a long time. Basically since grade school. He was a very sweet and caring man. I know he will be missed by all his family and friends. Especially the GCHS CLASS OF "74". R.I.P GREG.

We met when we were 5 or 6 years old and although I visited in the summers from Arizona, Greg and I spend a lot of time together. Once I moved to Greensburg, Greg got me going with the swim team. I remember traveling to summer meets in the old Rambler wagon going no more that 50 mph so the car as Greg's dad said, "wouldn't burn oil." 
 Greg's junior year with the swim team we were Greg Schwering on backstroke, myself breaststroke, Greg Shaffer butterfly and Jerry Taylor on freestyle. We had a memorable year!
 Greg was more than willing to help out others and when I wasn't around, he did a lot for my mom and brothers.  Although it has been a while since I last saw him he is forever in my memories!

As a son, I admired the loyalty and sincere devotion Greg displayed towards his dear mother as he would visit her daily while a resident in the nursing home. He also brightened  our days  while he visited his mother.                         

I have know you since the 1980's.  You have always been a true friend and family. I will miss our conversations and you Fudd.  Looking forward to when we meet again old friend. 

I was shocked to read this. I am so sorry for your loss Jordan and Wyllie.  I first met Greg when he worked with Gary at Reiger's. He always had a smile. He always made me smile or laugh. He was a great hunter and loved to go West in the winter. I am sure Gary and Greg are in heaven reminiscing. Another one of the good guys gone too soon. I will miss seeing Greg and his smile. 

Fudd I was truly shocked to hear of your passing. I am so glad I got to meet you for the first time at West Penn Sportsman in 2010. We had some great times for sure shooting trap in the state of Pennsylvania. I have pictures and video that I will share at West Penn in July 2021. Rest easy Fudley until we meet again.

Met Greg at the "Y" many years ago.  Anytime we happened to bump into one another, we'd always strike up a conversation.  Had a nice conversation late last year, last I saw him. 

He is one of the nicest individuals one can imagine.  Easy for conversation.  

He will definitely be missed.  God speed.  

To share a single memory of Greg (Fud) is a true disservice.  He was one of the best friends a person could have.  Well-grounded, fun and kind are just a few of his many traits.  Greg always had a smile.  He always made me smile.   His world of friends was endless.  He and only a handful of others will remember, Greg was a Poollock.  That made him an incredible basketball player.  Peace to Jordan and all of Fud's family and friends.  He'll always be right here.

Well Fudley, it was always an adventure around you.  Going to miss all the stories at Brushcreek.  You and Bob can start your own trap club now.  Tell him I love him and I miss you both. 

You will be missed O' Man of Leisure.  Thank you for teaching me a little about trap and a lot about life.  God speed my friend.
