Helen F. Farmer Farthing

Helen F. Farthing, 98, of Greensburg passed away on May 30, 2016. She was born on May 6, 1918 in Muncy, Kentucky, the daughter of Benjamin and Phoebie (Isaacs) Farmer. Helen was a 1937 graduate of Salyersville High School in Salyersville, Kentucky. She married Charles Fredrick Farthing on October 5, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1998. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg, the Greensburg Country Club, Tri Kappa Sorority; she was the President of the PTA at her children’s school and also served as a Brownie Leader. She was the secretary for Levensteins Salvage and Tom Barnes Appraisal.

Survivors include: Daughter- Brenda Farthing; Sons- Bruce (Patty) Farthing and Keith (Jackie) Farthing; Grandchildren- Allen Farthing, Alex Farthing, Andy Farthing, Angie Bailey, Jeff Farthing, Kami Morris, and Caren Richards; and 16 Great Grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by: Parents and 7 Siblings.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral at 1:00 pm at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Robert Kernodle will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Greensburg Community High School Boys and Girls Golf Teams.
