

Judith Lynn Forkert, 73, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 31 at her home. Judy was born in Decatur County on April 29, 1938, the daughter of Leander and Inez (Franks) Roszell. Judy was a 1956 Graduate of Greensburg High School and attended Purdue University.
Judy married Dyar Forkert on April 12, 1959, and he survives. Judy and Dyar have 4 surviving children: Kristina (Michael) Wright of Nagoya, Japan; Kathryn (David) McCreary of Greensburg, Indiana; Ryan Forkert of Germantown, Maryland; and Scott (Jodie) Forkert of Greensburg, Indiana. She is also survived by one sister, Nancy (Conrad) Kress of Castleton, New York, 5 grandchildren: Chase and Riley McCreary, Brayden and Shelby Forkert, and Jared Wright, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leander and Inez.
Judy worked in customer service at Rust Wholesale for more than 20 years. She loved horses, going to horse tracks, camping, and traveling. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Tree City Saddle Club, where she served as treasurer.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, June 3 from 4PM to 8PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 4 at 10AM at the United Methodist Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Decatur County, the Greensburg United Methodist Church, or the Decatur County Community Foundation.
