Lois L. Hitchcock

Lois L. Hitchcock, age 82, of Greensburg, Indiana passed away on Friday August 31, 2018. Lois was born January 31, 1936 in Greensburg, Indiana to Dorothy Hitchcock and Philip Hitchcock. She was a 1957 graduate of Greensburg Community High School. Lois worked for Randall Textron for 25 years before she retired. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and also attended Union Baptist Church. She loved to spend time doing word searches, needlepoint, watching hummingbirds at her feeders, and spending time babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made the best rice krispie treats, peanut butter pie, and fudge. Lois is survived by; sons, Bill Hitchcock and Philip (Bev) Hitchcock; daughter, Mary (Duane) Ruble; brother, William (Jane) Hitchcock; grandchildren, James (Tracy) Hitchcock, Melissa (Scott) Huff, Wendy (Jody) Adams, Tosha (Kenny) Harrison, and Lisa (David) Land;16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren with one more on the way; and Brownie her companion dog. Lois was preceded in death by; father, Philip Hitchcock and mother, Dorothy Hitchcock; grandson- Joshua Hitchcock; sister, Lena Walker; brother, Kenneth A. Hitchcock; and birth mother, Mary Davis. A visitation for Lois will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
