Marlin “Bud” Mozingo, 82 of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home. Bud was born on August 2, 1935 in Decatur County, the son of Lowell and Velma (Jones) Mozingo. He married Shirley Mae Colson on December 11, 1954 in Greensburg and she passed away on September 21, 2017.
Bud worked most of his life as a farmer, but was also known by many to be a trader. He would buy, sell and trade all kinds of things vehicles, tractors, equipment, tools, livestock, etc. He was also known to be a bit of a prankster; one year he lined his fence posts with shoes during Halloween, and many are still hanging there today. His favorite spot was on his back deck where he could watch his white Charolais cattle, which he had purchased from his uncle Wilbur, and he could see his pond where he always enjoyed feeding the fish and watching them come to the top. Above all he enjoyed time with his family; they were the love of his life.
Survivors include three daughters - Vengi (Bill) Holtkamp, Margi (Bill) Graves and Vonda (John) Elsner all of Greensburg; three sisters – Reita Watson, Wilma (Paul) Struckman and Vickie (Sam) Wentzel; four brothers – Stanley (Ruth) Mozingo, Fred Mozingo, Aaron (Melinda) Mozingo and Earl Mozingo; seven grandchildren – Amy (Scott) Henderson, Jared (Michelle) Graves, Anthony (Katie) Holtkamp, Danielle (Jason) Bell, Alicia (Emil) Narwold, Emily (Bartholomew) Smith and Jesse Elsner; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his infant son Michael Mozingo, two sisters Janet Colson and Kay Compton, and two brothers Dyar and Ivan Mozingo.
