Ron attended South Decatur High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army serving as a Para trooper. Ron enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing; he also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Hoosiers Basketball games. In 2005, Ron attended the Greensburg Men’s Emmaus walk. He worked most of his life as a self-employed timber cutter.
His greatest joys were his 3 sons: Tyler Elliott of Carmel, Travis Elliott and Nicholas Elliott both of Greensburg. Other survivors include his parents Lewis and Clara Elliott of Greensburg, his sister Gloria (Jim) Wenning of Greensburg, his brother Randy (Amanda) Elliott of Columbus and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents Cecil and Bernice Mozingo and Loraine and Martha Elliott.
There will be a private memorial service held for the family at a later date.
