Sara L. Norris Hime

Sara Lois Hime, 86 of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Sara was born on June 23, 1927 in Decatur County, the daughter of John William and Elizabeth Helen Norris. She was a 1945 graduate of Burney High School. On February 19, 1946, Sara married Paul E. Hime in Hartsville, IN and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2006.

Sara was a homemaker, but also served as a childcare provider. She was a member of the Burney United Methodist Church, the Candle Lighter’s homemakers club and she also enjoyed sending cards and letters to people and babysitting.

Survivors include her Daughter – Judith Paulette Sexton of Columbus, IN, two Sons – Mickey J. Hime Sr. of Fairland, IN and Scott (Vicky) Hime of Greensburg, IN, one Sister - Nancy (John Menefee) Owens, one Brother- William (Carol) Norris, six Grandchildren, and five Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul and one sister Jane Stephens and one great great grandson Blake Wicks.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 5PM – 8PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Sara’s funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25 at 10AM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
