Steven L. Moore, 63, of Greensburg, passed away on February 7, 2015, peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born March 2, 1951 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of T. Eugene Moore and Betty L. Logan Moore. Steven was a 1969 graduate of North Decatur High School. On January 16, 1971 he married Kathryn A. Weberding and even after 44 years of marriage he still introduced her as his “New Bride”. Steven worked at American Manufacturing for 3 years and then worked for Duke Energy and after 40 years retired in 2013. He also was co-owner of the Greensburg Speed Wash Laundry Mat from 1984-1991. He was a member of the Star Baptist Church, Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals, NRA, IBEW Local 1393, he served as Union Steward, was Treasurer for 21 years of UNIT 2, and was also an Executive Board Member. Steven was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for 21 years. On June 23, 1977 he flew his first Solo Flight and on February 11, 1978 he received his Private Pilot License. Steven enjoyed mowing at his farm, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, boating, and traveling. Steve cherished his family, friends, and extended family. Survivors include: Wife- Kathryn A. Moore of Greensburg, Brother- David (Sandy) Moore of Greensburg, Mother-in-Law- Stella Weberding of Batesville, Brother-in-Laws and Sister-in-Laws- Gary (DeVota) Weberding of Sunman, Dennis “Whitey” (Sandy) Weberding of Batesville, Donald “Dinger” (Carol) Weberding of Batesville, Deborah (Jack) Mauzy of New Albany, Indiana, Tony “T.W.” (LeNita) Weberding of Batesville, Kenneth (Kim) Weberding of Bateville, Jane (Steve) Keeth of Dixon, Missouri, 12 Nieces and Nephews, 20 Great Nieces and Nephews, and 1 Great Great Niece. He was preceded in death by his: Parents- Betty L. Logan Moore and T. Eugene Moore, Father-in-Law Robert J. Weberding, and Nephew- Todd Weberding. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 am all at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Rev. Tom True will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
