Albert Wayne Nelson

Albert Wayne Nelson, 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 3:59 AM at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Muskegon, Michigan on November 19, 1933 he was a son to the late Alexander & Doris (Wainwright) Nelson. Albert was a proud United States Army veteran and had served for 2 years. He attended Michigan Tech University, where he obtained his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Albert was not only an engineer but also an inventor. In his free time he loved to go fishing, write books, and enjoyed going to casinos and horse races. On most occasions he was able to outsmart the machine and leave with a profit. Albert was a former member of the First United Church of Christ in Greenville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Daigle) Nelson, whom he married June 15, 1957: siblings Gladys Keglovits; Maxine Lindback; William Nelson; Charles Nelson.

Survived by his children Karen Adams & Darren Willis; Vicki & Tony Howard; Ronald & Amanda Nelson; grandchildren Cassie & Steve Reyes; Kelsey Adams; Amanda and Brian Rawson; Alexis Abernathy; Cohen Nelson; Olivia Nelson; Tyler Howard; Jason & Kelsey Howard: 5 great-grandchildren: sister-in-law Eilene Nelson: as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Friends may call on the family on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral service to follow at 1 PM with Pastor Doug Baker presiding and military honors conducted by the Greenville Honor Guard. Burial at Greenville Township Memorial Garden at a later date.
