

Berman Eugene Henninger, 88 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 9:30 PM at Oakley Place, Greenville, Ohio. He was born December 29, 1932 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Vernon and Rosa (Drew) Henninger. Berman graduated from Arcanum High School in 1949 and was a member of the Moose Lodge, the E.U.M. Church and The V.F.W.
He served in the United States Army as a radio repairman/operator with the 63rd Signal Battalion in Salzburg, Austria. He retired as a bank president working at the Arcanum National Bank for approximately 33 years.
In his spare time, he was an avid train/steam locomotive enthusiast constructing a model train set in his garage. He was grateful for the opportunity to travel extensively, and the many pictures left behind are evidence of his love for photography.
Berman was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Mernia (Ricker) Henninger whom he married June 21, 1952.
Berman is survived by his children: Merena (Henninger) Martin and Mark Martin of Beckley, West Virginia and Jeff and Elizabeth Henninger of Snoqualmie, Washington; his grandchildren: Joshua & Deidra Nida, Jessica and Mark Vlahovich, Luke Henninger, and Celeste Henninger; his brother and sister-in-law: Rodney and Deanna Henninger, his sister and brother-in-law: Deanna and Vern Eikenberry; and his special friend and constant companion, Delorse Mote.
Services will be held on Wednesday December 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in Castine Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Veteran’s services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
