

Cheryl Peters, age 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:05 PM Tuesday July 29, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville. She was born July 22, 1946, in Pikeville, KY and the daughter of the late John and Hope (Compton) Mullens.
Cheryl had been employed as a secretary at Otterbein College, the Ohio Youth Council and Classic Carriers. She was a former very active member of the Ansonia Methodist Church where she served as choir director and most recently attended the Greenville Missionary Church where she continued her active church life. Cheryl had been very involved with the Emmaus Walk serving in numerous capacities. She loved to sing, play the piano, read books and enjoying her knitting hobby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Bob Coakey.
She is survived by her husband Larry Peters of Greenville. They were married on May 14, 1978. Also, her daughter Gina (Nathan) Ilich of Irwin, PA; grandchildren Alexander Shaler and Noah Bernd; great grandchildren Isabella, Breeze and Bluma; special nieces Tonya (Andy) Morrison and Linette (Karl) Winfield as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Also, sisters Gwen (Jim) Wheeler of Columbus, Ohio and Kay Coakey of Pataskala, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday August 5, 2025, in the Greenville Missionary Church 1110 North Broadway Greenville, Ohio with Pastors Gary Oser and Ron Hoeksema co-officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday August 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service in the church.
