Gary was born September 29, 1942, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Gibson Omer Meeker & Bernice (Toman) Bickel. In addition to his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Boner; and a brother, Ronald Bickel.
Gary is survived by his children, Jackie & Daniel Wittler of Greenville, Trichia & John Booher of Greenville and Gary Joe & Diana Bickel of Fernandina Beach, Florida; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Gary was a security officer at Fram in Greenville, He was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge. Gary was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed golfing.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The family request everyone to dress in casual Ohio State Buckeyes attire. Memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd. Miami, FL 33134.
