Irene Hiestand

Irene Hiestand, 86 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2026, at 12:06 AM at EverHeart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Irene was born August 17, 1939, in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Martin and Hazel Irene (Figel) Drake.

Irene along with her husband Jerry owned and operated Jerrys Laundry since 1967. She was a member of Greenville Missionary Church, where she was active in the choir, played the piano and organ; she was a very passionate animal lover and enjoyed reading books.

Irene is survived by her husband, Jerry T. Hiestand of Greenville whom she married December 28, 1957; her sons and daughters in law, David T. and Michelle Hiestand of Greenville, and Wayne A. and Linda Hiestand of Greenville; her grandchildren, Jordan Hiestand, and Joshua Hiestand; her step grandson, Zach Coppess; her sister, Mary Ann Lehman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Irene will be held on Monday May 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Greenville Missionary Church, 1110 North Broadway, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Missionary Church.
