Mark Benjamin Ashworth was born on July 23, 1953 and died on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, in Greenville, OH. He was a graduate of New Madison High School and Edison State Community College, an education which propelled his career as an electrical engineer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, Deacon and leader at the Beech Grove Church of the Brethren. He was lovingly married to Janet Ashworth (Cloyd) for 48 years. Mark never knew a stranger and would strike up a friendly conversation with anyone who would listen. He was passionate about his family, cars, computers and electronics. No matter where he went, he loved to find ways people were connected, however distantly, to his hometown. Once that connection was discovered he would declare, "Darke County is the center of the universe."
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Martha Ashworth, and brother Stephen. He is survived by sister Mary (Mike) Caldwell, brothers Loren and David, wife Janet, sons Jeremy (Mary Besecker), Joshua (Mindi Purdy) and Micah (Heather Hartman), and grandchildren Gavin, Theodore, Zane, Zev, Josephine, and Bennett. His family held his hand until the end of his cancer battle, and are grateful for the loving care of EverHeart Hospice in-patient services.
Funeral service to be held at the convenience of the family, burial at Palestine cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Beech Grove Church – 3420 Harrison Rd, Hollansburg, Ohio 45332 - on April 30, 2022 at 2 pm.
