Born on June 13, 1937, in Cavite City, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Lourdes Yap and Conrado Castro.
Julieta was a stay-at-home mother who, along with her husband, raised four children. She had a huge heart, and all were welcome in her home. Julieta was a fantastic cook, and anyone visiting was sure to be fed. A grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother of fourteen, there was nothing she loved more than family gatherings.
In addition to her parents, Julieta was preceded in death by her siblings Abdon Y Castro, Jose Y Castro, Dionisia Castro, and Conrado Y Castro Jr.
Julieta is survived by her beloved husband, Raymundo C. Zapanta, their children Meinrado Zapanta, Michael Zapanta, Mabel Zapanta Porras (Max), and Melissa Zapanta Peyer (Bill), as well as her siblings Loraine C. Del Rosario, Corazon C. Poblete, Leonardo Y Castro, Lucila C. Barbuco, and Maria Mercedes C. Opperman.
Services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, with a graveside service to follow in the park at 3:00 PM.
