Barbara attended Guilford Women’s College and upon graduation pursued a long fulfilling career in education. After marrying Bob Janes, they moved their family to Greenville, SC. Here Barbara enjoyed many hobbies, gardening, card playing with the girls, and traveling the land in their motor home.
Surviving are her Daughter Patti Janes of Taylors, her son Mark Janes of Greer, daughter in law Katrina Janes of Greer and grandson Hunter Janes of Greer. Also surviving is her brother Richard Tucker of Greenville and Robert Tucker of Greensboro as well as many other family members and friends.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Lee Road United Methodist Church, 1377 E Lee Road, Taylors, SC 19687. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM, 1377 E Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
