Betty was born in Johnson City, TN. She attended Columbia Bible College (now CIU) for three years, and then attended and graduated from ETSU. After graduation, she and Francis (Frank) M. Noell, Jr were married.
They served as missionaries in Japan for 40 years before settling in Columbia, SC for retirement where Betty taught a Bible Study for Japanese women for nearly 20 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a fabulous storyteller, a quick wit, and a student of the Scriptures. Betty and Frank were actively involved at First Baptist, West Columbia, SC.
She is survived by her children; Janelle, Virginia, Mary, Joel and Rebekah and respective spouses along with a myriad of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; Francis (Frank) M. Noell, Jr and her son Francis (Frank) M. Noell, III.
Betty was laid to rest beside her husband Frank at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
