Betty was a registered nurse and a member of Taylors Baptist Church where she sang in a choral group. She was a Life Member of the American Contract Bridge League, sponsoring the “Double B” ACBL weekly bridge game in Greenville. Betty was also an excellent cook and enjoyed providing delicious dishes every week for Bridge.
Betty is survived by her husband, John Richard Bain, sister-in- law, Peggy A. Bain of Memphis, Tennessee, and multiple cousins in South Carolina.
She was predeceased by her parents, Barney and Lillian Rochester. In addition, John and Betty’s children, John Richard Bain, Jr. and Johnna Lee Bain, both passed away at a very young age.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 10:00-11:30 am in Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, South Carolina.
Committal service will follow at Oconee Memorial Park, 1923 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Seneca, South Carolina, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
