Beverly Tirk Nelson

Beverly T. Nelson has peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer on November 21, 2021. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Frank P Tirk and Thelma Erb Tirk. Beverly was a graduate of Grove City College in Grove City, PA.

She was member of John Knox Presbyterian Church for over 25 years. Her joy was her family as she devoted herself to love, care for and give of herself completely as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Everyone she met was a friend. She retired from JP Stevens in Greenville, SC.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 60 years Larry S. Nelson; children: Kim N. Brooks (Brian) and Robert F. Nelson (Mieke), grandchildren: Christopher Brooks, Elizabeth Brooks, Ryan Nelson and Thomas Nelson; niece, Janet Shaffer and nephew, Craig Shaffer (Dina). She was preceded in death by her sister, Marlene Shaffer and brother-in-law, Dean Shaffer.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at John Know Presbyterian Church at 35 Shannon Drive, Greenville, SC. A private burial to follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
