Buddy Lee Smith, born September 8, 1929, our loving husband, father and grandfather was called to his heavenly home on May 11, 2014. He was the son of the late Bruce H. and Josephine P. Smith of Elizabethton, TN. Graduating from Milligan College, he retired from the automobile business. He was married for sixty years to Mary Cowan Smith. Surviving are his wife, son: Kevin L. Smith (Kelly) of Greensboro, NC, daughters: Kim State (Glen) and Dana Plybon (Michael) of Greer. His sisters are Carol Alderman (Myron) of Greer and Peggy Hopewell (Tom) of Tarboro, NC. Grandchildren are Adam and Wesley State, Haylie Tysinger, Jordan and Ashlee Smith, and Olivia and Andrew Plybon. He has five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Jack B Smith. Buddy was a previous deacon at Overbrook Baptist Church and presently an usher at Greer First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the parlor of Greer First Baptist on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with services to follow in the sanctuary at 12:00 noon.
