Carolyn graduated from Cary High School where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad. She then earned college degrees in economics and business administration at Peace College (William Peace University) and Meredith College, both in Raleigh, NC.
Carolyn was a strong, remarkable woman who, in her life in Greenville, SC, used her education for positions in accounting and mortgage with Dunn and Bradstreet, First Federal, BB&T (Truist), and Homes of Hope. Carolyn was a hard worker who strived for perfection throughout her professional career.
A loving and devoted mother and wife, her family meant everything to her. In addition to her children, the great joys of Carolyn’s life included her two precious grandsons, Mills and Grayson whom she adored, and they lovingly called her Gamma. She joyfully attended all of their events, including awards days, field trips, sporting events, along with many others to take in every moment with them.
With her love of life and fun personality, she made friends easily. People wanted and loved to be around her. Carolyn enjoyed her social life with friends and co-workers who were drawn to her sweet and fun-loving personality. She was full of life and enjoyed music, dancing, playing the piano, trips to the beach, and using her interior design skills to decorate the home she so loved.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, John of the home, who took the utmost care of her during her illness, daughter, Elizabeth Waye Limbaker (Skip), and cherished grandsons, Mills and Grayson Limbaker.
Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved son, Ryan Ogburn Waye, sister, Patricia Morrison of Greensboro, NC, and brother, Kenneth Martin of Raleigh, NC, along with her parents Curman and Lillian Martin.
She was a woman of great faith whose trust in the Lord served as the foundation of her strength throughout her life. Before she became ill, she attended Edwards Road Baptist Church, Oconee ARP in Seneca and Brookwood Church in Simpsonville.
