Born on April 30, 1933 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clyde and Lois Morris.
Carroll was a graduate of Biltmore High School in Asheville, North Carolina. He was an Army veteran and served as a radio operator in the Korean War. Carroll later worked as a field engineer with IBM for 34 years, from 1959 to 1993, and was also dedicated to volunteer work, including at Paris Elementary School and Sevier Middle School. He was a longtime member of Rutherford Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Freida, his brother, Buster, and his sister, Elaine.
He is survived by his sons, Eric C. Morris (Karin) and Patrick E. Morris(Gina), as well as his grandson, Jonathan (Langdon), great-grandson, Robert, and one sister, Skip Forrester.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Woodlawn Memorial Park's Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. Committal will be held at 3:00 PM.
