

He was born and raised in what is known as the Triple Cities of Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott NY. Known to all as “Chuck,” he graduated from Chenango Forks High School in 1972 and then was drafted into the US Army. He served in Korea and missed the Vietnam War. While there he earned a second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Upon his return to the states his life changed dramatically when he became a believer. Shortly after that he married Donna Williams and attended the Institute of Christian Service at Bob Jones University. Upon graduation in 1980 he made his home in Greenville, reared three children and was a member of several Baptist churches over the course of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Donna Bishop, his children Charles Bishop Jr, Joseph Bishop, Rachel (Asher) Parris and three grandchildren, Macy Lee Parris, Conrad Parris and Edmund Parris. He is also survived by ten siblings , DiAnn Hurt, DiAn Czekala (Mike), Randy Bolebruch, Cindy Brezensky (Marty), Lynn Crosby (Don), Mike Bolebruch (Chris), Ramona Bolebruch, Lynn Marie Bishop, and Scott Bishop. He is predeceased by his parents Agnes Bishop Bolebruch, Conrad Bishop and one sibling Dennis Bishop.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, SC. A receiving of friends will begin at 10am, followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11am. Chuck will be buried with military honors at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC at a later time.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord. He is remembered as a happy, kind loving person who enjoyed serving God.
