

Charles Ray Bogue of 205 Kenilworth Dr., Greenville, SC passed away on Saturday, July 14 at the age of 80. He is survived by his devoted wife Jane, son Charles Ray Bogue II and wife Kathy, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; daughter Jeannine Bogue Rodgers of Greer; a sister, Diane Watkins and husband Skip, of Maplewood, Missouri; a brother Danny, of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Patrick Bogue, Haley Bogue, Isaac Rodgers, Ian Rodgers, and Jacob Rodgers; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepchildren; Brenda Lee Burns and Jane Stasney of Greenville, and Charles B. Murphy, Jr. of Georgia; also step-grandchildren Melody Burns, Noah Burns, Bryce Stasney, Erin Murphy Baum, and Bryan Murphy. Charles was born on May 31, 1932, in Haileyville, Oklahoma to David and Mildred Bogue and grew up in Maplewood, Missouri. He served his country proudly as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy during the Korean War, later graduating from the University of Missouri. He went on to serve in various roles as a leader in economic development and chamber of commerce organizations, including project manager for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Enid, Oklahoma and as Director of the New Castle/Henry County Economic Development Corporation in New Castle, Indiana. Charles later retired from Pepsico of Greenville. Charles was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church and was active in the Men's Friday morning Bible Study. He was also a member of American Legion Post 3. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Matlock, of Phoenix, Arizona. The family extends a special thanks to Mr. Mike Link, whose friendship and many hours of assistance to Charles were invaluable. Also many thanks to Hospice Care of SC. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 17 at 11:00. The service will be led by Jane's cousin, Rev. Dr. Glenn Mosteller.
