Charles Richard Bowlin, Sr., 80 of Mauldin went to be with his Lord and savior on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 after a long illness. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie and Iris Smith Bowlin. He was in the US Navy and the US Air Force and was a member of The Cathedral Community Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jenny Bowlin; children: Carol McAnly (Don), Lynn Hill, Ray Gillespie, Chuck Bowlin (Janice), and Sherry Hall (John); brother: Robert Bowlin (Barbara); grandchildren: Melette, Lance (Ashley), DeAnn (Brent), April, Katie (Dane), Chase, Jennifer (Cody), J.R., and Nash; great-grandchildren: Summer, Mitchell, and Arden. He was predeceased by a son: Bill Resler. Visitation will be Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home followed by the funeral at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with Military Honors committal service in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home.
