Darrell Lee Joyner

Born in Wilmington, NC, Darrell enjoyed a childhood that took him across the country, growing up in Cincinnati, Chicago, and Sumter, SC. He was a graduate of Wilson Hall and went on to earn his degree from the University of South Carolina and proud to call himself a Gamecock!

Darrell began his professional career with First Union in Charlotte, NC. He later held positions at Multimedia Corp and Robert Half before channeling his drive and expertise into starting his own recruiting company, AccountSource Financial. He loved to travel all over the world, but spending time at Holden Beach held a special place in his heart. His other hobbies included golf, metal detecting, cheering on USC and most importantly spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joy; his daughter, Emily and her husband Patrick; and his son, William. He was a devoted grandfather to Annie and Cooper. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie and sister-in-law Susi.

A receiving of friends will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. A private celebration of life is planned at a later time.
