

Dorothy Jean Dixon, 85, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away at her home on November 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love for her family, and dedication to serving Jehovah.
Born on September 7, 1939, in Greenville, South Carolina, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Earnest Babb and Cynthia St. Cary King. She married the love of her life, Leroy Dixon, and they shared 49 wonderful years together until his passing. Dorothy symbolized her dedication to Jehovah in 1981 and spent 53 years faithfully engaging in field service to share her beliefs. Her favorite scripture from the Apostle Paul inspired her to put Jehovah first in all aspects of her life, a commitment she upheld with grace and conviction.
She is survived by her devoted children: Stanley (Gloria) Dixon, Gloria Ann Dixon, and Berlinda Obasa; her beloved grandchildren: Candice Dixon, Justin Dixon, Deanna Dixon, Amber Bowens, Shaquille Dixon, Earnest Dixon, and David Dozier; her cherished great-grandchild, Aureah Ferguson; and her dear siblings, Gloria Babb and Babbs Moss. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Grey, and her husband, Leroy Dixon. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Clifford Babb, Heyward Babb, Ruby Babb, Milton Babb, and Catherine Babb.
A funeral service to honor Dorothy’s remarkable life will be held on December 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial, located at 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. The service will be officiated by Edward Morris. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the legacy of a woman whose faith and love touched the lives of all who knew her.
Dorothy Jean Dixon, lovingly called "Granny" by many, will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a faithful servant of Jehovah. Her gentle spirit and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
