Efrossini Mentzelopoulos, 91, was born in Kiato Korinthias, Greece on May 15, 1931. Her life was filled with many blessings, including the love of her family and friends. Despite struggles and challenges with her health, she was known by everyone for her sweetness, kindness, humility, tolerance and dignity.
On the morning of Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 7 o’clock, our sweet mother was greeted at the gates of heaven. Efrossini was an excellent role model as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a spiritual teacher not only to her family, but also to everyone she knew.
We are humbled by the outpouring of love, support and prayers from both Greece and the United States. While we lost an angel, heaven gained a new one. We are heartbroken, but are thankful for the blessing she was in our lives.
Efrossini is survived by her husband Leonides Mentzelopoulos; daughters: Anastasia Mentzelopoulos and Alexandra Popov and son-in-law, Ivan Popov; granddaughter, Francine (Efrosene) Popov; sister-in-law, Panagiota Papleacos; nephew Michael Balducci; niece Stacey Anamisi and husband Tony Anamisi and their three children; and many family and friends in Greece who love her.
