

Elsie Alberta Alberson Wyatt (88), died peacefully on January 20, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Alberson, Jr., and Effie McClain Alberson. Originally from the Greenville, SC, area she lived in Columbia, SC, for a large part of her adult life, and returned to Greenville for her elder years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thompson Wyatt, Jr. and is survived by her two sons: Michael Wyatt (Tricia) of Travelers Rest, SC, and LTC (USA) Jeffrey Wyatt (Janice) of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren: Jarrett Wyatt, Thomas Wyatt, Nicholas Wyatt, Hampton Wyatt, and Maggie Wyatt. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Alberson Henderson of Piedmont, SC, her brother-in-law, Amos Whitt of Greer, SC, and many nieces and nephews. Employed with Kilbourne Park Baptist Church in the 1970’s, she was committed to her church and Lord by serving as the Administrative Assistant to Pastor Thomas Edward Dougherty. She was then employed with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission as a clerk, and worked there until her retirement in 1985. She was a committed prayer warrior on behalf of her family, missionaries and mission endeavors. A funeral service will be held at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Wade Hampton Blvd, in Greenville, SC, on January 24, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 pm.
