Emery “Bud” Merrill Hawkins, 86, of Greenville, husband of Sharon Ann (McDonald) Hawkins, passed away on Tuesday, June 02, 2020 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Henry Allen and Lida Estella Hamby Hawkins. He was employed by Piedmont Natural Gas for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed par three golf, and spending time at the beach. Most of all he loved the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served our Country in the US Army.
In addition to his loving wife of 33 years he is survived by one son, Emery Hawkins II, of Piedmont; two daughters, Cindy Ann Hawkins (Van) of Belton, and Vicky Chapman of Pelzer; one step-daughter, Gina Fellows (Gareth) of Keswick, Canada; nine grandchildren, Tara, Ginger, Amy, Spencer, Lee, Charlie, Megan, Justin, and Casey; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and 1 sister.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will not be present, but friends and family may come to pay their respects from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
