Fred Lee Hood

Fred Lee Hood of Greenville, SC passed away February 17, 2023. He was born in Lavonia, GA to the late John Bunyan Hood and Addie Burgess Hood on October 22, 1935. Fred met the love of his life, Bobbie Sue Harris when he left Georgia and moved to Williamston, SC. He was married to Bobbie Sue in Anderson, SC on June 22, 1957. They have been lovingly devoted to each other for over 65 years. Fred had a career in the construction industry as a project manager, and a division manager based out of Greenville, SC. He was a longtime member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Fred had many hobbies including fishing, treasure hunting, and enjoying the outdoors. His main passion was enjoying his beloved family. There were many adventurous trips to the beach, and tropical places.

He is survived by Bobbie Sue Hood his loving wife, his children: Tony (Christa) Hood, Kim McWhorter, Terri (Robbie) Smith, Tani (Scot) Campbell, and Justin (Samantha) Hood. Fred also has eight grandchildren: Connie Nix, Barbara Higginbotham, Corey McWhorter, Alisha Smith, Brooke Laufman, Garrett Klinck, Sean Hood, and Emma Kate Hood. He has five great grandchildren: Brooklyn Higginbotham, Alexis McWhorter, Abigail McWhorter, Aubrey Carter, and Sophie Laufman. Fred is survived by his sisters Barbara Bellew, Avy Sanders, and Judy Akins. He is preceded in death by his brother John B. Hood and his sister Sandral K. Floyd.

A visitation for Fred will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM followed by a committal service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609.
