Gerald "Gerry" Workman Guest

Born February 2, 1953 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late John Oscar Guest and Mary Guest Dorsey.

He retired from AT&T after 32 years and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son Adam Guest (Amanda), daughter Kerri Mercier (Mike) and son Jonathan Guest (Kim). Six grandchildren Brylie (Peanut) Guest (Coleman), Cooper Guest (Gabby), Ella Mercier, Lucas Mercier, Brody Guest, and Dylan Guest.

He is also survived by brothers John Guest, Rick Guest (Tari), and sister Debbie Watkins (Tom).

Gerry loved his grandchildren with all his heart and was lovingly known as Pop to all of them. He was always attending one of their tennis, soccer, basketball, baseball, or horseback riding events and loved nothing more than cheering them on.

He loved our yearly family vacation trips to the beach and loved playing golf, softball, and watching westerns.

Gerry was a wonderful husband, Dad, and Pop and we will miss him so very much.

Services for Gerry will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with a service in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Gerry will be laid to rest in the park following the service.
