Guynell Hyatt Gambrell Brooks

Guynell Hyatt Brooks passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on January 30, 2019, at the age of 79. She was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Guy Hyatt and Gladys Wilson. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, and friend.

She was a devoted member of West Greenville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Brooks; sons: Dana Opperman (Jo Jo) and Tony Opperman; stepdaughters: LeaAne Brooks and Melanie Brooks Waz (James); grandson, Tee Opperman; brother, Mickey Hyatt; sister, Pat Houston.

In addition to her parents, Guynell was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Hyatt and sister, Paula Hyatt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of The Mackey at Century Drive, officiated by Pastor James Tollison. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 8:30-10:30 am at the mortuary.
