Born on March 3, 1944, in Greer, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ruby and Thomas Allen. He was an insurance agent by trade but volunteered many hours of his free time serving as a Shriner. He enjoyed a good round of golf, but his wife and family were his pride and joy.
Harold is survived by his daughter, April Phillips, granddaughter, Sydney Phillips, and grandson, Josh Phillips, as well as a stepdaughter, Tammy Allison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Jo Allen.
A graveside service for Harold will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
