Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Augie Cox Hooper.
Helen is survived by two sons: Jim Godfrey of Greer, SC (Nina) and Gary Godfrey of Greenville, SC; a sister: Mary Halcombe of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband: James F. Godfrey.
Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.
