Chris Hardwick, born Heyward Christopher Hardwick, died suddenly after collapsing in his home in Greenville, SC this past Friday, July 4th, 2014. Chris was born in Charleston, SC at Roper Hospital on 05/20/65 to Herbert Noah Hardwick and Lillian Christopher Hardwick (deceased). He was 49 years young. He is survived by his loving wife of sixteen years, Kristen Elizabeth McAbee in Greenville, SC. He is also survived by his siblings Helen Hardwick Crowe, Patricia Hardwick Leonard, and Kenneth Clark Hardwick. He has one brother who passed in October 2013 named Herbert Olin Hardwick. Chris grew up in North Charleston, SC and attended North Charleston High School. After high school he graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Mathematics December 1991 with a minor in psychology. He has mostly worked in the IT field since graduating. He and Kristen have two beautiful furry children named Taz and Bella who are still their mother's constant loving companions. Chris was an avid reader and loved all things electronic. He was the most compassionate, loving man I have ever known. He was brilliant, he loved to think he could dance, he loved all types of music, loved to sing off-key and loved the power of a good nap. He was the most devoted husband I could have prayed for. He took care of my needs before his own always. I cannot imagine being more loved, more secure and more treasured than this man made me feel. The family will hold private services at a later date in Charleston, SC per Chris' wishes. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to the widow's home at 36 N Garden Circle Greenville, SC 29615. I Carry Your Heart With Me by E.E. Cummings: i carry your heart with me i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world(for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)
