

Jacquelyn Dennis Richardson, age 87, of Greenville, SC passed away on February 6, 2026 with her husband by her side and family gathered close. The youngest daughter of Maude Cooper Dennis and Henry Grady Dennis, she was truly the apple of her mother’s eye, and beloved by her older siblings. Jackie was a GA native and a longtime resident of Franklin, Ga.
Mrs. Richardson was a master junior high and high school teacher in Heard County, Franklin, GA, for 35 years. Her undergraduate degree was from LaGrange College, where she met her future husband, Gene Richardson. Jackie was well known at the LaGrange campus for her keen mathematical mind and humorous escapades around campus. Her post graduate degree was from Auburn University. Jackie was an avid and voracious reader who dearly loved cats. She was well known in her community for her generosity, tenacity, her faith, and love of family. Her recipes are dear to her family and she was well known for pies, biscuits, and chili with cornbread.
Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Eugene Hall Richardson formerly of Talbotton, GA, her three daughters, Kathleen Dennis Richardson of Youngsville, NC, Elfreda Chambers, and Heather Richardson both of Greenville. Mrs. Richardson was blessed with nine grandchildren that were the joy of her heart. She and Gene also were the proud great grandparents of six.
Services are scheduled for Friday, February 27, 11:00 am at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609.
