Janice Everman Mahaffey

Born to Sanders Luther Everman and Nellie Fleming Everman in Ashland, KY, they moved many places before settling down in Spartanburg, SC to be near Nellie's family. Janice went to school at Winthrop College and worked as a bookkeeper for Butte Knit until she married in 1977 and started a family.

Janice was married for 47 years to William Pomeroy Mahaffey. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter - always giving of herself to her family and church. She loved volunteering in her children's classrooms, leading their scout troops, teaching their Sunday school, and sharing her love for art and making things. She showed her devotion to family in caring for her mother and mother-in-law. She found great joy in taking care of her granddaughters as babies and after school.

As a faithful Christian, she was a guiding light to her children in serving God and putting others first. She was a longtime member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family for her love and devotion to others.

Janice is predeceased by her husband William Mahaffey. She is survived by her son, Jason Mahaffey and his fiancée Shea Alexander; her daughter, Angela Patterson and her husband Bradley; and her beloved granddaughters, Allyson Patterson and Brooklyn Patterson.

Services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Cross Roads Baptist Church, 705 Anderson Ridge Rd., Greer, SC 29651. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:30 PM with burial to follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church.
