Formerly of Greenville, Jean was known by many as “Miss Jean” or “Mama C.” She worked in retail for more than thirty years before switching to a career as a leasing agent with Roper Mountain Woods until her retirement. She was awarded “Leasing Agent of the Year” in 2012.
Jean moved in with her daughter & son-in-law, which allowed them to create many special memories, including dancing with her grandson whenever Bruno Mars was playing. She loved a good book, and spent her final years reading daily on her porch while bird watching and saying her prayers.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Braxton, grandson, Dan Braxton, and brother, Anthony Phillips. She was predeceased by her husband, Danny Carson, brother, Kenneth Phillips, and sister, Doris Hazen.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations, 311 Century Drive Greenville, SC 29607, with a funeral following at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Jean will be laid to rest in Greenville Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm.
