
Jack is survived by wife Ann Heiberg Pinckney “Heide”, sister Hilda Pinckney Ross “Bootie”, brother Frank Douglas Pinckney, and children, son, John Adams Pinckney, III and daughter-in-law Melida Marte, daughter, Anna Dodge Pinckney Hightower and son-in-law Chad Lewis Hightower, daughter, Leah Heiberg Pinckney and son, Thomas Emerson Pinckney. He is also survived by beloved grandchildren, John Lewis Hightower, Charles Perry Hightower, Abigail Louise Hightower and Adams August Heiberg Pinckney.
Jack leaves behind a rich legacy of love, loyalty, commitment and stability. He loved his family more than words can express and reflected God’s unconditional love for us every day of his life. He was a gifted architect, designing homes, schools, churches and places of community. He served the church, Saint James Episcopal and gave to this faith community throughout his life. The simple beauty of Jack’s faith, character, and creative genius shaped the lives of his family, friends, and community. He was a great man.
We will celebrate Jack Pinckney’s life 3pm Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Saint James Episcopal Church, 301 Piney Mountain Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to “The Ross Fund” providing camp experiences for disadvantaged youth at Camp Bob, Kanuga Conference Center.
